CTR

When I first joined the church and was called to Primary, I couldn't figure out why they were calling the kids "CenTeRs." They were always referring to the "CTRs," and in print, I certainly thought it was the abbreviation. As an adult, I like to think of CTR as "Current Temple Recommend."

Nauvoo Trip

I grew up in the church and wore one of the green CTR rings. In 2001 we went to Nauvoo with our youngest daughter, then 9, and while we were there we found her and I silver CTR rings. I have worn mine constantly since then, many times it has become a missionary tool when I have clients ask why I wear it and what it means. My daughter is now 18 and in college. When she moved away, one of the things we made sure she took with her was her CTR ring. Not only are they a reminder of a special trip in our lives, but they are reminders of what the Savior would have us do at all times. During many dark times in the past few years, I have looked to those words for comfort and guidance.
