I was wearing my CTR ring, when I went to the market. Being that the LDS religion is at the forefront because of our Presidential elections, my checker recognized my CTR ring as a sign of my faith. She asked are you Mormon? I said yes. She said she wanted to know more about what we believe in.. I really didn't have time, but promised to return or send Missionairies to see her!! My CTR ring was a very useful Missionary tool!!!

Homecoming Football Game
During my Senior year in High School, I was hanging out with some friends after we won our Homecoming Football game. We were all exhausted from playing the game, and were relaxing at a good friend of mine's house. I was the only LDS guy there. They busted out some beer, vodka, and weed and said, "Come one Pretasky, one drink won't kill ya! No one will ever find out!" It wasn't whether or not anyone else would know, but I knew I would feel guilty and my Father in Heaven would know, as well. I got up and told them I wasn't gonna drink, and it was late so I had to go home. As I left, I felt good deep inside knowing I had done the right thing in following the Word of Wisdom. They all respected my decision to not drink, and I haven't been asked since.

Take me to the Temple
Last week, I spent a night out with an old friend of mine. I know it wasn't the wisest thing to do especially when I'm waiting for my missionary. For the sake of generousity, I went. As soon as we got to our destination, I looked down at my ring & immediately felt the spirit strong telling me to stop and explain to this old friend the promises I've made to my missionary and to share with him what I really want in a future companion. Which is having them take me into the temple. So I did. Although this old friend of mine didn't agree as much, I couldn't explain how happy and relieved I felt!!
