CTR Ring Shop.com Blog!

My name is Brandon and I am the owner of CTR Ring Shop.com, a website that sells CTR rings. I created this blog because in the process of selling CTR rings, I had the opportunity hear so many inspiring CTR ring related stories. I figured there are enough Latter-day Saints with uplifting stories that could inspire so many others, as they have me. Through these stories, we can truly learn what CTR means. Feel free to share your story and check back often, as a new story will be posted as often as often as possible! Enjoy!

God Loves Me

I'm not a member of the chruch, but my best friend is. I saw her wearing a CTR ring and asked her what it meant. She explained the concept and then told me what it ment for her. I was impressed and really liked the idea of making a concious choice to do the right thing. For me, this is a symboy of how far I have come in my life and a reminder to never step back, and always be proud when I make continue to make good choices. I came back from drug addiction, I came back from life at a bar, and bad relationships and hurting people I cared about, and those were the days when my life had no value to me. Today, I am proud of the person I have become. I always try to do the right thing, and try not to be too hard on myself when I make mistakes. This is a beautiful reminder of my decision to CTR. And I have my friend to thank for it. Even if she wishes I would go to church, she knows that I am a good person and her God loves me no matter what.

Temple Preparation

I was getting ready to go to the Temple to get my Endowment. A sister thought it would be a good idea for me to get a CTR ring. I thought about a bit. Saw the ad in the Mormon Times and thought that it would a great thing. So, I looked a few times to find that one ring that would just fit just right. I found it and ordered it. It arrived two days just before I went to the Temple. It was a great thing to have my CTR ring to wear on that day.

Choosing The Right CTR Ring

I'm getting ready to go on my mission! So i really wanted to get a new ctr ring. My mom little sister and I sat down and started looking at all the wonderful options. How about this one.? Na, This one, maybe, this one YES! We looked for a long time to find just the right ring for me, but boy did we have a blast. I chose one that was a little different than all the other rings because each of us is different and I wanted my ring to go with that! I loved picking out my ring and I thank you CTR Ring Shop for helping me find just the one!!!

CTR in Keyna Aftica

In Africa people appreciate the LDS church so much and every time they see anybody with with a CTR ring they will always ask for it or where did you find that. Well to us in Kenya CTR reminds us to do right and to stand strong in the church. I have been printing T-shirts with CTR on them and it has helped us stand faithful in the church.

Engaged Couple That CTR and ETTE

When my fiance proposed to me he got me the hawaiian hibiscus CTR ring because he knew that I had really wanted one being both LDS and Hawaiian. He proposed right in front of the beautifully lit up fountain in front of the Sacramento, CA temple. Now, for our wedding I am returning the favor and getting him the ETTE ring to remind him that although it may seem tough at times, we should all try our best to "Endure to the End."

Reminder to Work Together

I have never had a CTR ring (other then the primary one), so I'm looking forward to my new one. I plan to give a new one to my wife with a promise to better communication in our marriage. This, I hope, will act as a reminder to work together toward our eternal marriage and family.

My CTR ring has helped me numerous times to make the right decision. It's like a constant companion to me always keeping an eye out for me and making sure I am living my life, each day being more and more like Heavenly Father.

CTR Means...

CTR means to me that I can always choose the right and do things that my Heavenly Father would want me to do.

CTR means choose the right where ever you are no matter if you have a reminder or not. I think that everyone should choose the right.

Physical Benefits to Living Spiritual Laws

As physical and psychological health issues of the American population seem to be a popular subject, simple spiritual suggestions by a particular religion have existed for nearly 2 centuries; and lately, scientists and dieticians seem to be agreeing with their teachings. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (known as LDS or Mormon) religion live a strict set of guidelines that have shown them to have a lower risk for cancer, heart failure, and stroke. This in turn means they tend to live a longer, healthier life. More...

First CTR Ring

I got my first CTR ring when I was 18 from my missionaries. At the time I went to visit my dad shortly after in TX and lost my ring in the grass and never found it so years pass and I get a new one. This time the Blue sparkle style and I still have it I wear it to face me instead of facing out to remind myself to choose the right when things get out of my control. It has helped me greatly over the years and I know will continue to help me in the future.

R-Rated Movie

I was at the mall with my friends one summer evening (non of which were Mormon). All of a sudden all of my friends wanted to go to the movies. We were at the front deciding what movie to go see. All of my friends wanted to see a R rated movie. When I told them I couldn't they kind of looked at me funny, but we chose a different one. One of my friends told me that they gained a lot of respect for me that day.

Powerful Influence

I have always been a hymn person, I espically love the Hymn Choose the RIght. I have a wall plague with a quote from Elder Scott concerning that the Hymn Choose the RIght is not just words on paper. While in my home I am surrounded by images of My Savior and quotes from the brethren; it is my Temple at home. Even in my car I have an image of the Salt Lake Temple to remind me of who I am and where I want to return. But when I leave and go out into the world the only assurance that I am able to take with me is my CTR ring. It is amazing to me how three little letters on a ring can have such a powerful influence for helping me to remember who I am and the example I am striving to be.

Examples of the Believers

Seeing the initials "CTR" is a great reminder of how through our actions we become "examples of the believers" in all that we do. When times get rough, my ring is a reminder that I'm not alone and that all things are possible with the help of our Lord, Jesus Christ and our Eternal Heavenly Father, of whom i have come to love and be more and more filled with gratitude for his unconditional love for me and us all. Living to choose the right becomes a daily habit, a habit that I can say has changed and improved my life in so many ways. Every act of righteousness gets me that bit closer to home base, and knowing this prepares me, to meet my Father in heaven.

Secondhand CTR Ring - Unexpected Beginnings

We found a CTR ring in a secondhand store several summers ago. The clerk told us they found the ring on the floor, and when no one claimed it, they put it in the display case. Well, we couldn't just leave it there! So I bought it and wore it a few times before giving it to my oldest daughter. After she outgrew it, it was passed down to my middle daughter, and now my youngest daughter is wearing it! It's a simple CTR ring with a light purple shield- definitely a girl's ring. Sometimes the most meaningful things come from very unexpected beginnings!

CTR Means... Current Temple Recommend

I heard a talk in Sacrament meeting several years ago in which the speaker, our current Bishop, suggested that CTR could stand for not only Choose the Right, but Current Temple Recommend. I bought my ring to remind me that I always need to have a current temple recommend. Our Ward's missionaries stop by once or twice a week. The senior companion has a CTR ring and I asked to see it. He was curious why I wanted to see it, so I explained that I had just ordered myself CTR ring. After my ring came I shared the reasons why I bought it with my 11-year-old son and he asked if he could have a ring also. It's a splendid reminder of making the right choices that lead to a current temple recommend.

American Sign Language

I love the CTR store online you want to know why, well beacuse I'm a Mormon and sometimes it's hard to think about when to do the right thing or not. Well I bought the I love you CTR ring because of 2 reasons, one was that I want the CTR ring to remind me to do the right thing and two, I am also deaf and I love it when something that has to do with ASL (American Sign Language) is part of Mormonism so yeah.

Crash Team Racing

To me a CTR ring is such a comfort and a tool. Whenever I am in a situation that I could be doing better, or am faced with a sticky decision I can always feel my CTR ring and know what I need to do. It can also be a great missionary tool. People often ask me "What does your ring say?" or "What does CTR mean?" (and in response to a friend, no it isn't crash team racing) it provides a great way to introduce people to our church standards, and eventually the full Gospel of Jesus Christ. My CTR ring is awesome!!

Misfired Revolver

I got my first CTR ring from a friend back when I was younger. When I moved I fell out of my habit of going to church & I lost my ring. A few years later I was going through a rough time and I tried to take my life. After thinking about how blessed I was to be here and how the gun misfired twice. One miss fire hit me in the arm and there was no permanent damage. Then when I went to actually do it the gun didn't go off. That's when I decided to go back to church. The Monday after I went to church, I found my ring, 3 years after I lost it. Now I use my story of how my revolver misfired (and they usually don't) to show my faith in God and how I feel I'm here for a reason.

I Asked My Friend

I was not Mormon when I asked one of my friends, "Why does your ring say CTR on it?" She reply by saying, "I am LDS and CTR stands for choose the right." "Oh, like choose the right thing?" I replied. "Yeah, and when I look at my hand I remember to choose the right thing or path."

Birthday Gift

I’ve been a Member of the LDS church for around 3 or 4 years now and was wanting a good idea for a birthday gift for my brother. Since he is a holder of the priesthood we were discussing the CTR rings and others so we got on the net and did some searching this site come up many times, and I liked the pricing and the looks of the rings I saw. I’ll be back later to get a ring for my daughter soon. The CTR ring will be a constant reminder even though I’m not able to attend church for health reasons to always choose the right. This will help me in all my decision making for me and my daughter I will be looking at your other items too.

Replacing my CTR Ring

You people may think I am crazy for what I am about to say, but I am actually getting a CTR Ring... that isn't the crazy part. I have wanted one for years. The crazy part is I am replacing a Gold ring (the whole serving God and Mammon thing I suppose, or just worldly possessions thing) with a CTR Spinner Ring. My sister and I have birthdays that are two days apart. We each decided to get each other a CTR Ring. They are both Spinner Rings (weird, huh?) they only difference is they are contrasting to one another... They are both Sterling Silver, but mine has more black and hers has more silver. Anyway, I am hoping that just by seeing it on my finger it will help me to make better choices and to always CHOOSE THE RIGHT! =)

Decision Time

In the morning when my alarm wakes me up before early morning seminary, it's decision time - I can give in to my temporal desires and snooze or I can just get up and go. That's why I sleep with my CTR ring on so when I feel it around my finger in the morning I am reminded of the spiritual benefits that I should be putting as the priority, and it makes it more of an easy decision to Choose The Right!

Ring For a Co-worker

I was talking to a young nonmember coworker/friend of mine, and the subject of CTR rings came up. I explained to her what they were, and showed her mine (I have the "World's Smallest" style). She was interested, particularly when she found that the traditional color was green (which she loves), and I offered to buy her one if she told me her ring size. I didn't expect her to accept the offer, but she did! Not only that, but she has offered to pay me back the cost of the ring twice now, though I've told her it will be a gift, because she says she really does want it. I had her pick out of a few styles, and have just ordered the "Retro" style for her off the CTRRingShop.com site. Can't wait till it gets here!

Temptation

I recently got my mission call, and I will be going to LA, California Spanish speaking. It’s true what they say, the devil works harder and harder as the day I leave gets closer and closer. In my past I have had problems that I have taken care of. I was receiving a large amount of temptation to do something I should not have, and just before I was about to do it, I looked down at my hand on the keyboard and read "CTR". I immediately got out of the situation. Even something as small as a ring can remind us and save us from being consumed by the temptations of the devil! I’m so thankful for CTR rings.

Totally Nicotine Free

I converted to Mormonism my sophomore year of High School. I had been making bad choices, like smoking, and I was pretty much addicted to coffee and energy drinks. I met this guy named James, started a friendship, and after about 4 months of knowing him, he started telling me about the church. At first I acted negatively, even threatening to break off my friendship with him because he believed that "nonsense", but after doing some research online, I became more receptive to it. After a few more months, I decided to join the church. When I did, it was like a new thread had joined James and I together and we started dating. He got us CTR rings and we promised each other our purity. The ring and James were what I focused on when I quit smoking. Every time I would need a smoke, I'd talk to him, or, if I couldn't do that, I'd focus on my ring and say a prayer to ask God to help me do the right thing & not light up. It's been 13 years since then, totally nicotine-free, but sadly, James left the church about 10 years ago so I had to leave him. I always think of him and say a prayer for him when I see my CTR ring, even after all these years.

Heavenly Father's Way of Signaling

For me, CTR is what got me to join the church. When I was younger, one of my peers had been wearing a ring in class, and I questioned him on what CTR meant. He told me it was an abbreviation for "Choose the Right." When I got home, I thought about what that meant, and I could not get it out of my mind. After a few minutes of thought, I decided to look online for a solution. I came to learn about the church, and out of curiosity, I began to play with that particular friend a lot more. So, when I had gone over to his house for lunch, his mother asked me about my religion. I replied, "I don't have one." She questioned me about my thoughts about church and lectured me on what this church meant and what they believed. That Sabbath day, I joined my friend at church, and came to attend every single Sunday from that day on. I believe it was my Heavenly Father's way of signaling to me that this church is the true church.

Don't Hide What Makes You Happy

By purchasing a CTR ring you are showing Heavenly Father you will listen and obey him. I think that by wearing this ring it will help us to remember the covenants we made with the Lord & Jesus Christ. We are his children, and by being obedient He will help us to walk beside him. The CTR ring will help us to always choose the right. It will also help us better to do missionary work when ever asked about the ring which we wear. We should always be open to questions about our faith. Do not hide what makes you happy.

He is With Me

CTR to me is a reminder to always keep the Lord with me. It helps me remember he is watching, and wanting me to choose the right. Wearing a CTR ring makes me feel as if the savior is always with me, and he is, and it helps me to make the choices he would want me to make. It helps me to not do things I wouldn't do if he was around. I love the gospel! I love everything about it and the Lord! Choose the right, everyone!

Guidance and Love

What does CTR really mean??? In my heart CTR not only means choose the right but it also means to be who you are meant to be. Use your heart as your guidance and to follow the path that you know is right. When you wear the ring, it has powerful meaning to you and it resembles what you are committed to do in life. It helps you decide whether it’s the right path to choose and how to choose it. Every time I have my ring on it lets me know that I am a child of GOD and that he will help me with guidance and love!

Happy New Year & CTR Wallpaper!

We are aware of the blessings that information and technology can be in our lives in our modern day. The ability to research family history, listen to General Conference, read the scriptures, and look up Ensign talks online can help us grow and progress spiritually.

We are also aware of the tremendous risk that individuals and families take by having computers and the internet in our homes. Pornography, chat rooms, and anti-Mormon literature are easily accessible and can destroy the soul. In the March 2001 Ensign, William C Porter wrote: "When we ignore the urge to satisfy curiosity about things the world may consider acceptable, we build strength to resist temptation and show that we value gospel standards."

In an effort to make 2009 a great year full of spiritual progression and faith-building experiences, we want to do what we can to help resist temptation. CTR Ring Shop has teamed up with Elvtech, a Utah web design company and created a FREE, eye-catching CTR wallpaper background for your computer! We believe that having CTR on our fingers and our computers will help us choose the right.
